VietnamJUMP 2009

VietnamJUMP 2009 comes back again this year with the hope of creating a modern fairy tale one more time with plenty of newly exciting activities.

VietnamJUMP 2009 is an overseas community service trip that NUS students who share the same interest of helping hard lives around gather together.
The team will be built up with about 20-25 young hearts and share the mission of spreading the smiles among lovely kindergarten children in Quang Nam Province, the middle part of Vietnam.

During the two weeks (started Mid May 2009), volunteers will help with decorating the 2 rooms (one musical room and one medical room) as well as organizing activities for the children there.
There are also cultural exchange sessions with the secondary students.

Together with social activities, volunteers also have chance to visit Hoi An ancient town.
Lying on the banks of Thu Bon river, Hoi An is well-known as one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia on 16th century and certificated as the World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
Besides, the excursion will be overwhelmed with many culture-exploring activities which aim to enhance the awareness of Vietnamese culture.

In addition, we believe that your heart must beat faster because of the excitement of our brand new fund-raising activity, "One coin - one brick"

Surely, a journey of happiness, love and friendship is waiting for you.

"One coin - one brick"

What's extremely new for VietnamJUMP 2009 is nothing but "One coin - one brick" project.
Along with other common fund raising activities, we come out with the idea of building "One coin - one brick".
Basically, we target to collect 50-cent coins from donation to make a model of the classroom.

As our expectation, "One coin - one brick" is not only about improving the budget but also about binding the team members' relationship as well as setting a new record in Singapore.
And so far, we have promises from NTU and SMU in accordance with displaying our "One coin - one brick" after completing.

Hence, we confidently believe that you are refreshed by joining us with this pre-event project. Don't hesitate to apply right now !!!

BE an important part of VietnamJUMP 2009 !!!

Summary for VietnamJUMP 2007

VietnamJUMP 2007 is actually an unforgettable experience with a very happy ending for all of the volunteers who have participated.
The two-week trip brought approximately 20 young heads from NUS to Vietnam Friendship Village.

Located in Ha Tay Province, about 11km from downtown Hanoi, Friendship Village plays a role of a treatment and care center for the children who are the victims of Agent Orange Dioxin in the war 30 years ago.
At that time, there were about 120 children and 40 veterans living in the village.

Volunteers came from diverse nationalities but shared the same mission - healing the pain of the 30-year-ago war. Team members had great opportunities to contribute their love and care by preparing local meals for the children there: from growing vegetables to cooking.
Moreover, the life turned out to be extremely happy than never before with the appearance of volunteers in every aspect of the children's life: from playing football, drawing pictures to telling bedtime stories.
Surely, no one can forget about those days.

Commonly, you find your own happiness and benefits by helping others. We find that this fits VietnamJUMP 2007 perfectly.
What volunteers got were about the belief, love and friendship.
Together they sang under the stars after hard-working days. Together they explored a new culture. Together they cried and they smiled.

Together, they made VietnamJUMP 2007 a fairy tale ...

Don't believe me?
Experience yourself !!! ^_^
